Deck overview

Helmed by Smaug the Magnificent, this is a mono-red Dragon-treasure midrange beatdown deck. Smaug is a hasty flier who banks a Treasure every upkeep and converts his hoard into direct damage whenever he attacks. The list ramps through mana rocks, rituals, and Treasure producers, lowers Dragon costs with Dragonspeaker Shaman and Urza's Incubator, then deploys heavy fliers like Lathliss, Dragon Queen, Goldspan Dragon, and Twinflame Tyrant. Damage multiplication is the finish: Roaming Throne naming Dragon doubles Smaug's and other Dragon triggers, Twinflame Tyrant doubles all red damage, and Scourge of Valkas / Terror of the Peaks provide incidental ETB reach. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins through flying alpha strikes, Smaug's scaled attack snipes, and pings from Impact Tremors and Dragon ETBs. It is a straightforward, snowbally battlecruiser deck that is at its best when it gets to untap with a Treasure-hoarding board.
