Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls, orchestrating an aggressive Group Slug strategy that weaponizes standard game actions. By deploying low-mana pingers such as Razorkin Needlehead, Roiling Vortex, and Underworld Dreams, the deck ensures that every opponent loses life on their own turn. This reliably triggers Valgavoth, growing the Elder Demon into a massive airborne threat while drawing three extra cards each turn cycle. The deck converts this steady card advantage into insurmountable pressure through damage doublers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, Twinflame Tyrant, and Bloodletter of Aclazotz. Opponents face punishing attrition from Painful Quandary and Opposition Agent, severely constraining their ability to execute game plans. In addition to overwhelming combat and burn pressure, the list packs lethal two-card infinite combos including Exquisite Blood with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Bloodchief Ascension with Mindcrank. Robust single-target removal and board wipes ensure full board control while marching toward a rapid Turn 7 finish.
