Deck overview

This mono-black deck is helmed by Olinda the Oblivious, utilizing an unconventional group slug strategy powered by creature gifting and persistent odor counters. The game plan focuses on giving opponents creatures through cards like Slaughter Specialist, Clackbridge Troll, and Tribute to Horobi, ensuring that Olinda always has targets to distribute odor counters onto when entering the battlefield or attacking. As opponents take repeated upkeep burn from their smelling creatures, the deck compounds the pressure with broad attrition pieces like Loyal Subordinate, Painful Quandary, and Grievous Wound. Olinda is shielded by a deep suite of one-mana death-redirection instants such as Feign Death and Undying Evil, which turn opposing removal spells into additional enters-the-battlefield triggers. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through accumulated passive drain and burst finishes from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate.
