Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis midrange strategy centered around Sauron, the Dark Lord and the Amass Orcs mechanic from Tales of Middle-earth. The game plan focuses on deploying on-curve mana rocks to cast Sauron on Turn 5 or 6. Once Sauron enters the battlefield, his passive ability turns opposing spellcasts into a steadily growing Orc Army token. Dealing combat damage with this Army triggers the Ring tempts mechanic, enabling a powerful engine that discards spent cards to draw four fresh cards each turn. The deck leverages this massive card advantage to deploy resilient threats like The Balrog, Durin's Bane and Witch-king, Sky Scourge, while backing them up with deathtouch, menace, and double strike. Opponents face relentless combat pressure and passive tax effects from Orcish Bowmasters and Sauron's legendary-sacrifice Ward.
