Deck overview

This Esper deck uses Zur, Eternal Schemer to transform powerful non-Aura enchantments into resilient, combat-ready creatures with deathtouch, lifelink, and hexproof. The primary strategy focuses on assembling Zur alongside continuous board-control enchantments like Pestilence or Parallax Wave. Once animated, Pestilence acts as a repeatable, instant-speed sweeper that destroys opposing creatures via deathtouch while gaining massive life buffers. This life gain converts directly into lethal drain through payoffs like Enduring Tenacity, Starscape Cleric, and Underworld Coinsmith. The list supports its core engine with dense card advantage engines, tutors, and a robust suite of free and efficient countermagic. Independent backup lines like the Opalescence plus Parallax Wave infinite exile loop ensure the deck remains dangerous even without its commander.
