Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius 'toughness matters' combat and blink strategy commanded by Plagon, Lord of the Beach. The primary game plan curves out early with efficient, high-toughness creatures like Aegis Turtle and Caelorna, Coral Tyrant. On Turn 3 or 4, casting Plagon draws a burst of 3 to 5 cards, refilling the hand and enabling toughness-based combat damage. By utilizing flicker spells such as Ephemerate and Momentary Blink, the deck repeatedly re-triggers Plagon to maintain immense card flow. On Turns 5 and 6, mass toughness converters and unblockable enablers like Baldin, Century Herdmaster, Ghalta the Immovable, and Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive turn defensive walls into lethal attackers, eliminating the table across two unblockable combat rotations. The deck protects its proactive board with efficient counterspells and indestructible effects while leveraging secondary win conditions like Triskaidekaphile and Laboratory Maniac.
