Deck overview

This Gruul midrange deck is commanded by Chishiro, the Shattered Blade and focuses on the modified mechanic. It synergizes +1/+1 counters, Auras, and Equipment to generate a wide army of 2/2 menace Spirit tokens while growing existing creatures each turn. The mana curve is supported by 35 lands and reliable 1-to-2 CMC ramp spells that consistently deploy Chishiro by Turn 4. Critical onset occurs on Turn 6, where scaling threats like Kalonian Hydra or extra combat engines such as Akki Battle Squad push heavy damage through opposing defenses. The deck closes the game around Turn 8 through overwhelming combat steps or overrun spells like Overwhelming Stampede. While it features strong offensive redundancy and targeted protection spells like Silkguard and Inspiring Call, the deck lacks dedicated tutors, fast stack interaction, and proactive stax, making it reliant on sustained combat pressure to achieve victory.
