Deck overview

This is a classic Esper lifegain-control deck helmed by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. The plan is to stall the table with pillowfort and extort pieces, accumulate massive life totals through Oloro's passive and on-board triggers, then convert that life into card advantage and table-wide drains. Primary wins come from pairing lifegain with reverse-lifelink engines (Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, Starscape Cleric) or resolving huge X-spells (Exsanguinate, Debt to the Deathless, Torment of Hailfire). Aetherflux Reservoir and Bolas's Citadel provide alternate finishers once life totals climb. Oloro himself is a reliable engine-gaining life from the command zone and turning every life trigger into optional card draw plus pings-but the deck's drain package and X-spells function without him. The curve is modest (AMV 2.70) and the mana base is solid, supporting a midrange control shell that grinds value until it can close.
