Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Mardu Vampire aggro-aristocrats engine commanded by Edgar Markov. Leveraging Edgar's Eminence ability from the command zone, the deck creates free 1/1 Vampire tokens with every Vampire cast, rapidly building a wide battlefield in the early turns without needing commander mana. This token swarm fuels multiple overlapping strategies: aggressive combat scaling through anthems and +1/+1 counters (Cordial Vampire, Cathars' Crusade, Markov Baron), aristocrat life-drain engines (Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, The Meathook Massacre), and rapid card advantage via Skullclamp. In the midgame, the deck pivots into decisive win conditions using an alpha strike backed by Akroma's Will or Edgar Markov, massive card flow through The One Ring and Bolas's Citadel, or a compact two-card infinite life-drain combo with Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. High-efficiency protection spells like Teferi's Protection and Deflecting Swat shield the board to ensure resilient finishes.
