Deck overview

This Golgari deck harnesses Shelob, Child of Ungoliant to turn an unassuming tribal suite of Spiders into a formidable deathtouch board control and combat machine. Early acceleration fuels a turn 4 to 5 Shelob deployment, immediately granting all Spiders deathtouch and ward {2}. Inexpensive fight and bite spells like Ram Through, Bite Down, and Ulvenwald Tracker function as instant-speed removal that claims opposing commanders and value creatures as Food artifact copies. The deck builds a wide web of reach defenders via Arasta of the Endless Web, Ishkanah, Grafwidow, and Lolth, Spider Queen, stalling opposing aggression before closing the game around turn 7 to 8. Win conditions stem from explosive team buffs like Beastmaster Ascension and Return of the Wildspeaker, or unblockable direct life drain through Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Rotwidow Pack. Backed by cheap, targeted protection spells, the deck offers resilient combat control.
