Deck overview

This Gruul Voltron deck centers on Wolverine, Best There Is, turning his static damage-doubling ability into lethal commander damage and one-sided creature removal. Dense 1- and 2-mana ramp pieces ensure Wolverine consistently enters play on Turn 2. The deck leverages power buffs, +1/+1 counter engines, and trample enablers to rapidly push Wolverine's power to 11 or higher, allowing a single unblocked swing or burst pump spell like Berserk to eliminate an opponent with 22 commander damage. A heavy suite of fight and bite spells doubles as spot removal, clearing blockers while growing Wolverine's power. Support pieces like Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Chandra's Ignition provide explosive multi-kill potential, while low-cost hexproof and indestructible spells defend against opposing targeted removal.
