Edric, Spymaster of Trest by Sereus

Format: Commander

Commander: Edric, Spymaster of Trest

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This deck is a highly optimized Tempo-Combo build helmed by Edric, Spymaster of Trest. The primary strategy is "Flying Men," which utilizes a high density of cheap, evasive 1-CMC creatures to trigger Edric s draw ability, rapidly filling the hand with interaction and extra turn spells. The deck aims to establish a board of small unblockable threats, cast Edric, and then chain "Time Walk" effects like Capture of Jingzhou and Temporal Manipulation to take consecutive turns. During these turns, the deck continues to draw cards through combat, eventually finding a loop or a massive Finale of Devastation to close the game. Secondary win conditions include a soft-lock with Words of Wind to bounce opponents' boards while drawing cards, or Narset, Parter of Veils combined with wheels like Timetwister to strip opponents of resources. The commander is the indispensable engine that converts small creatures into the velocity required to find finishers.
