For the emperor by Miirgile

Format: Commander

Commander: Marneus Calgar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Esper token deck, commanded by Marneus Calgar, turns every token that enters your battlefield into a fresh card draw. The core strategy is to flood the board with creature tokens using engines like Ocelot Pride, Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Myrel, Shield of Argive, and Bitterbloom Bearer, then multiply that production with token doublers such as Anointed Procession, Mondrak, Glory Dominus, Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation // Temple of Civilization, and Bard, King of Dale. The resulting card advantage and board mass is leveraged into several win conditions: overwhelming combat with Akroma's Will, Moonshaker Cavalry, or Cathars' Crusade; drain from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim; and a potential infinite loop with Phyrexian Altar + Pitiless Plunderer to generate endless death triggers and mana. The deck runs a light tutor suite (Demonic Tutor, Recruiter of the Guard, Seek the Heart) and a compact interaction package centered on protection and a single counterspell, making it a midrange value engine that aims to out-card and out-board the table by turns 7-9.
