Grave Wizards focus by Merz

Format: Commander

Commander: Kess, Dissident Mage

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck wins by forcing opponents to draw or by emptying its own library. The primary plan is Laboratory Maniac plus Tainted Pact, tutored with Mystical Tutor, Solve the Equation, Gamble and Entomb, winning on the next draw. A second path pairs Peer into the Abyss with draw punishers Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Underworld Dreams, Razorkin Needlehead and Scrawling Crawler to burn opponents when they draw. Stella Lee, Wild Card acts as a hidden commander, copying spells with Vivi Ornitier, Storm-Kiln Artist and Thousand-Year Storm, while Ghostly Flicker plus Naru Meha creates infinite copies. Kess, Dissident Mage is pure value, recasting instants and sorceries from the graveyard once per turn, not a combo piece.
