Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal strategy commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. It capitalizes on passive Eminence cost reduction from the command zone to deploy expensive, high-impact flying creatures earlier than normal. In the early game, the deck establishes mana rocks and cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Herald's Horn. By Turn 4, key draw engines such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign or Kindred Discovery come online, turning every subsequent creature drop into substantial card advantage. Threat onset occurs on Turn 5 with game-warping flyers like Magister Sphinx, Tivit, Seller of Secrets, and Consecrated Sphinx. The deck leverages asymmetric board wipes like Raise the Palisade and Kindred Dominance to clear opposing boards while preserving its own flying army, closing out the game with lethal aerial combat around Turn 7. Robust countermagic and flexible removal provide solid protection and disruption throughout the match.
