Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain, tax, and attrition deck commanded by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. It aims to establish early board control through attack taxes like Ghostly Prison and tap-in effects like Blind Obedience, followed by casting Liesa on Turn 4 or 5. Once deployed, Liesa punishes every spell cast across the table with a 2-life tax while offsetting your own life loss through her 5/5 flying lifelink body. Supporting engines like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Kambal, Consul of Allocation, and Bloodchief Ascension compound this attrition, rapidly shrinking opponents' life totals. The deck features a format-ceiling removal suite that answers any permanent type at instant speed, alongside the infinite Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond combo. Because Liesa pays life instead of mana for commander tax, the deck recovers from removal almost immediately, closing games on Turn 8 through steady bleed, large drain spells, or infinite loops.
