Deck overview

This deck is a Naya combat-control deck commanded by Marisi, Breaker of the Coil. Its central game plan is to deploy cheap, evasive creatures such as Battlefield Raptor and Beloved Princess in the opening turns, follow up with Marisi on Turn 4 or 5, and immediately connect with combat damage. Marisi silences opposing spells during combat and goads the damaged player's creatures, compelling opponents to attack each other while keeping you safe from retaliatory combat. As opponents whittle down their life totals and exhaust blockers through forced combat, the deck develops token-generating threats such as Giant Adephage, Doomed Artisan, and Wayfaring Temple alongside populate effects to build an overwhelming board. The list operates at a casual power level, featuring a basic-heavy land base, modest ramp, and high-CMC removal, relying on the political leverage of goad to outlast the table.
