Commander: Homer, the Hermit

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Sultai mill deck is built around Homer, the Hermit, using landfall triggers to mill opponents out. The commander's ability scales with the number of Crabs, Lobsters, Nautiluses, Starfish, and Trilobites on the battlefield, so the deck packs a dense tribal subtheme of these creatures. The primary game plan is to ramp heavily with fetch lands and land-tutor spells, deploy a board of cheap crabs and starfish, then repeatedly trigger landfall to mill massive chunks of each opponent's library. Passive mill enchantments like Teferi's Tutelage, Psychic Corrosion, and Court of Cunning provide a secondary win condition that works independently of the commander. The deck is a slow, value-oriented grinder with no infinite combos; it wins purely through incremental mill over many turns.
