Deck overview

This deck is a classic Gruul aggro strategy focused on casting Xenagos, God of Revels ahead of curve and deploying massive creatures to eliminate opponents with combat damage. Dense early ramp ensures Xenagos enters the battlefield on Turn 3 or 4. Starting on Turn 4 or 5, high-power threats like Malignus, Ghalta, Primal Hunger, and Worldspine Wurm gain haste and double their power at the beginning of combat, often dealing 12 to 40+ damage in a single swing. The deck sustains its hand through massive power-based draw spells like Rishkar's Expertise and Greater Good, which easily draw 6 to 12 cards at once. Xenagos provides built-in resilience by remaining an indestructible enchantment when devotion is low. While the deck lacks combo finishes and creature tutors, its extreme combat velocity and hand-refill potential allow it to eliminate the table reliably by Turn 7.
