Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai Bad Gifts and Pillowfort control deck commanded by Zedruu the Greathearted. The strategy centers on playing symmetrical, defensive, or severely detrimental permanents and donating them to opponents. Transferring cards such as Steel Golem, Aggressive Mining, Akroan Horse, or Humble Defector fuels Zedruu's upkeep ability to generate massive card draw and life gain. This steady resource velocity lets the pilot sculpt a full hand and dig into decisive win conditions including Felidar Sovereign, Triskaidekaphile, and The Locust God. Opponents are managed through targeted locks, attack taxation like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda, and high-quality removal such as Swords to Plowshares and Farewell. The deck wins by stabilizing behind its protective barriers, accumulating card advantage, and resolving an alternate win condition.
