Hydra Baby by puhinside

Format: Commander

Commander: Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Simic deck helmed by Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait is a value-driven landfall and +1/+1 counter strategy. Aesi provides an extra land drop each turn and draws a card on every landfall, turning each land played into card advantage. The deck then deploys a suite of Hydras and X-spell creatures, leveraging counter doublers like Branching Evolution, Hardened Scales, and Doubling Season to build enormous board presence. The primary win condition is overwhelming combat damage from massive trampling Hydras, with a secondary route via Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage to create a 20/20 indestructible Marit Lage. The deck also packs strong card draw engines (Rhystic Study, Consecrated Sphinx, Sylvan Library) and a respectable interaction suite to protect its game plan.
