Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Lizard tribal deck helmed by Gev, Scaled Scorch, built around two interlocking engines: a +1/+1 counter theme that rewards opponents losing life, and a Lizard-cast ping that turns every creature spell into chip damage. The primary plan is to flood the board with cheap Lizards, use First Day of Class to grant haste and counters, and grind opponents down through Gev's triggers, Molten Gatekeeper, Hired Claw, and combat. The deck's real finisher is an infinite loop: First Day of Class plus any persist creature (Putrid Goblin, Lesser Masticore, Lingering Tormentor, Puppeteer Clique, Wingrattle Scarecrow) plus a sacrifice outlet (Defiant Salvager) with Molten Gatekeeper as the payoff, dealing infinite damage. Secondary wins come from combat with menace/deathtouch and damage multipliers like Collective Inferno and Valley Flamecaller.
