Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai cycling and blink control deck that leverages Astral Slide, Astral Drift, and Escape Protocol to generate massive card advantage and board control. Commander Shiko, Paragon of the Way provides powerful recursion and redundancy by copying key 3-CMC spells like Astral Slide or Fable of the Mirror-Breaker directly from the graveyard on entry. The mana base and early curve are smoothed by dense landcycling cards, allowing reliable color fixing into 2-drop and 3-drop engine pieces. Once an engine is established, utility creatures like Loran of the Third Path, Spirited Companion, and Volatile Stormdrake can be flickered repeatedly on each player's turn. The deck transitions into a win by resolving heavy ETB threats like Terror of the Peaks, Pyrogoyf, or Riptide Gearhulk, converting each cycling action into severe burn damage or continuous nonland removal to lock out the table and close the game around Turn 8.
