Deck overview

This Esper Sphinx typal deck focuses on deploying high-power, evasive flying creatures while controlling the board with efficient interaction. The Ur-Sphinx provides constant cost reduction from the command zone through Eminence, enabling expensive Sphinxes to enter the battlefield turns ahead of schedule. Early turns establish a solid mana foundation using low-cost mana rocks and artifact cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Cloud Key. In the mid game, card advantage powerhouses such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, Consecrated Sphinx, and Tivit, Seller of Secrets refill the hand and sustain forward momentum. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around turn 6, utilizing massive flying damage alongside game-altering effects from Magister Sphinx, Medomai the Ageless, and The Ur-Sphinx's free spell theft. Supported by an extensive suite of Esper removal and counterspells, the deck reliably protects its lead and closes out the game over two combat cycles.
