Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Modified Stompy strategy helmed by Halana and Alena, Partners. The game plan centers on deploying efficient mana ramp and early utility creatures, casting the commander on Turn 4, and leveraging its combat trigger to distribute +1/+1 counters while granting immediate haste. Mid-game turns scale board power rapidly using high-stat beaters and modified payoffs such as Thundering Raiju, Tyvar, the Pummeler, Desert Were-Worm, and Jumbo Cactuar. Card flow is supported by synergy pieces like Terrasymbiosis and Bitter Work, while protective instants like Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Tyvar's Stand shield key threats from targeted removal. The deck wins by applying relentless combat pressure across consecutive turns, overwhelming defending boards with trample, extra combat phases, and massive stat buffs to eliminate all three opponents by Turn 8.
