Deck overview

This mono-black control deck turns Horobi, Death's Wail into a repeatable creature-removal engine. By combining Horobi's symmetrical trigger with inexpensive targeting artifacts and lands like Squee's Toy, Tooth of Chiss-Goria, and Oasis, the deck destroys any opposing creature for zero or one mana at instant speed. Cards like Nowhere to Run and The Fire Nation Drill bypass ward and hexproof, preventing opponents from sheltering their threats. As creatures die, attrition pieces such as Archfiend of the Dross, Falkenrath Noble, and Bastion of Remembrance drain life totals across the table. The win condition culminates in flying combat damage, drain triggers, and large burst finishers like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate. Because Horobi's trigger affects your own creatures, conventional equipment and targeted protection cannot be used, making timing, untargeted defenses, and swift recasting critical to maintaining table control.
