Deck overview

This Esper list is a combat-value midrange deck built around Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima. His attack trigger rewards sending exactly one creature at each opponent, granting that attacker double strike or making it unblockable, and he draws whenever he himself connects. The 99 is therefore packed with extra evasion, combat-damage payoffs, and cheap interaction rather than a combo core. Kamiz, Obscura Oculus, Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, and Kaito, Cunning Infiltrator all reproduce pieces of the same plan, so Jin is the best engine but not a hidden-commander lock. Wins come from incremental unblockable combat, a late Approach of the Second Sun, Vorpal Sword's activated lose-the-game trigger, or Grievous Wound chopping life totals in half. Average mana value sits at 2.70 with a conventional 36-land, four-rock mana base, so the deck deploys on curve, spreads attackers, and grinds the table out rather than exploding on a single turn.
