Swab The Deck by GregUndead

Format: Commander

Commander: Captain Howler, Sea Scourge

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is an Izzet looting-and-discard-matters deck helmed by Captain Howler, Sea Scourge, built to turn every discard into a combat payoff. The core loop is simple: churn through the library with looting effects, feed discard payoffs like Magmakin Artillerist, Glint-Horn Buccaneer, Marauding Mako, and Scrounging Skyray, and pump the commander to push lethal combat damage through unblockable threats. A Pirates/Vehicles subtheme - Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator, Azure Fleet Admiral, The Belligerent, The Indomitable - generates treasures and card advantage off the same attack steps. The primary win is combat: Port Razer chains extra combat phases while Captain Howler's trigger re-pumps and re-draws each combat, closing out the table in a single turn. Secondary damage comes from the ping engines and Nahiri's Wrath/Channeled Force as finishers.
