Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and attrition control strategy commanded by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on leveraging death triggers, asymmetric creature control, and explosive black mana generation to dominate the game ledger. During the early turns, it deploys efficient ramp and card advantage engines such as Warren Soultrader, Braids, Arisen Nightmare, and Necropotence while using premier unconditional tutors to assemble its board. In the mid-game, it establishes severe creature control through Grave Pact, Maha, Its Feathers Night, and repeatable edicts like Fleshbag Marauder, which loop every end step once Avacyn, Angel of Horror enters the battlefield. The deck closes out the game across two response cycles through compounding drain from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and recursive Gray Merchant of Asphodel triggers, backed by formidable combat pressure from large evasive threats.
