Deck overview

This mono-black control deck suffocates opposing creature strategies through symmetrical edicts, sweepers, and static token hate, converting opposing losses into direct advantage. Commanded by Gisa, Glorious Resurrector, the deck exiles opposing creatures whenever they would die, shutting off opposing graveyard recursion and death triggers. On each of your upkeeps, Gisa resurrects those exiled creatures under your control with decayed, giving you an immediate, disposable attack force. When these stolen creatures attack and sacrifice at the end of combat, they trigger your own death payoffs, such as The Meathook Massacre, Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and South Wind Avatar. A smooth mana base of 36 basic Swamps supported by mana doublers like Crypt Ghast and Black Market powers out devastating noncombat finishers, including Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, and Rise of the Dark Realms, ensuring the deck easily closes games even when combat is contested.
