Deck overview

This deck utilizes Lightning, Army of One as a fast, lethal commander that exploits combat damage doubling through her Stagger mechanic. By pairing Lightning with double strike enablers such as Flaming Fist, Duelist's Heritage, and Genji Glove, the first strike damage applies Stagger to double the subsequent regular combat damage, quickly eliminating players with commander damage. A robust equipment package supported by tutors like Open the Armory, Stonehewer Giant, and Cloud, Midgar Mercenary ensures consistent access to both offensive buffs and defensive tools. Equipment cost reducers including Puresteel Paladin and Forge Anew bypass heavy equip costs, while Sunforger gives instant-speed access to removal, protection, and extra combats. In addition to single-target commander eliminations, the deck can sweep the table via Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar or initiate an infinite combat loop using Aurelia, the Warleader and Helm of the Host.
