Deck overview

This deck is a thematic Grixis midrange powerhouse commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord, blending the Amass Orcs mechanic with the Ring Tempts You engine and an aggressive package of nine Nazgûl. The early turns focus on developing mana through rocks like Arcane Signet and Relic of Sauron to deploy Sauron by Turn 5. Sauron's ward ability heavily penalizes targeted removal, while his passive ability grows an Orc Army every time an opponent casts a spell. Once an Army connects in combat, the Ring tempts the player, triggering Sauron's hand refill to discard and draw four cards. Backed by Lord of the Nazgûl, Orcish Siegemaster, and damage multipliers like Isengard Unleashed, the deck rapidly inflates its Wraith and Orc armies into lethal combat threats, finishing the table across Turns 6 through 8.
