Deck overview

This mono-black control deck is built entirely around exploiting the unique Burning Chains ability of Zenos yae Galvus // Shinryu, Transcendent Rival. By transforming Zenos into Shinryu, the pilot creates a state where eliminating just one chosen opponent instantly wins the entire game. The deck supports this game plan by deploying an overwhelming suite of hyper-efficient creature removal spells, including free spells like Deadly Rollick, Snuff Out, and Slaughter Pact, to trigger the commander's transformation on demand. Once Shinryu is active, the strategy focuses on pushing through lethal commander damage with evasion equipment like Brotherhood Regalia and Whispersilk Cloak, or instantly deleting the targeted player with burst life-loss cards such as Tree of Perdition, Phage the Untouchable, and Vorpal Sword. While the deck possesses massive single-target burst and removal efficiency, its reliance on combat connections and vulnerability to noncreature threats require disciplined resource timing.
