Deck overview

This Orzhov deck pairs Sarevok, Deathbringer with Noble Heritage to create a lethal hybrid of Voltron pressure, group-slug attrition, and protective control. Deploying Noble Heritage early guarantees that Sarevok enters as an immediate 5/6 beatstick that rapidly swells into double-digit power on subsequent upkeeps. Opponents face a punishing dilemma: accept +1/+1 counters and grant you full protection from their threats, or refuse and suffer devastating life loss whenever their turn ends without a permanent leaving play. A redundant suite of cheap leave-the-battlefield enablers protects your own life total, while cards like Drana and Linvala and Myrel, Shield of Argive restrict opposing interaction. The deck insulates its commander with an exceptional suite of zero- and one-mana defensive spells, eventually closing the game through insurmountable commander combat damage doubled by Archfiend of Despair or overrun by Akroma's Will.
