Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Spellslinger strategy led by Saruman, the White Hand. It converts noncreature spellcasts into a massive Orc Army token. Cheap cantrips, mana rocks, cost reducers, and efficient interaction fuel steady card flow and mana velocity. As you cast spells, Saruman triggers Amass Orcs X, growing a tall single-threat creature while granting your Orcs and Goblins ward {2}. The deck wins by converting this large Army into lethal damage using unblockable spells like Artful Dodge, evasion enablers like The Black Gate, double strike from Temur Battle Rage, or burn spells like Chandra's Ignition, Essence Harvest, and Fling. Backup token generators such as Talrand, Sky Summoner, Bria, Riptide Rogue, and Sauron, the Dark Lord ensure board presence if the commander is removed. Strong countermagic and spot removal keep opponents in check while advancing your board.
