4 - God of the Battlefield by Catylist

Format: Commander

Commander: The Scorpion God

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Black-Red "-1/-1 counter" attrition deck helmed by The Scorpion God. The plan is to blanket the board in -1/-1 counters through wither, infect, and direct placement, then profit from every death - drawing cards off the commander, stealing creatures with Necroskitter and Gisa, Glorious Resurrector, and triggering payoffs like Dusk Urchins and Blowfly Infestation. Proliferate effects (Contagion Clasp, Volt Charge, Vraska, Betrayal's Sting) grow poison counters, loyalty, and -1/-1 counters simultaneously. The deck closes through poison damage from Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon and toxic creatures, or Vraska's -9 ultimate. A deep recursion suite (Victimize, Vat Emergence, Aberrant Return, Persist) provides grind and resilience. It is a midrange value deck with no fast combo - it wins by grinding the table down.
