Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a classic Azorius "tax/control" build helmed by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. The deck's plan is to make every opponent action expensive while making your own spells cheap, then bury the table in card advantage and close the game with slow, resilient win conditions. The tax suite is deep: Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Archon of Emeria, Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, Sphere of Safety, and Windborn Muse all discourage attacks and spell-casting. The commander itself is the centerpiece tax, reducing your white and blue spells by one while taxing every opponent spell. The deck wins through Approach of the Second Sun (cast twice), Mechanized Production (copying an artifact to eight), Luminarch Ascension (4/4 Angels), or a token army from Monastery Mentor and Shark Typhoon. It is a classic "lock the table, then grind out the win" strategy.
