Deck overview

This mono-black deck is commanded by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and focuses on weaponizing the card-draw step into an asymmetric life-drain engine. The strategy aims to deploy Sheoldred on Turn 3 or 4, then unleash symmetrical draw effects, wheels, and forced-draw spells like Dark Deal, Master of the Feast, and Seizan, Perverter of Truth. Each card opponents draw deals 2 damage to them, while every card you draw restores 2 life to you, effectively negating the life-loss drawbacks of black card advantage engines like Greed and Ambition's Cost. Redundant drain pieces such as Underworld Dreams, Fate Unraveler, and Psychosis Crawler compound the damage. While the deck generates high card flow and substantial life buffers, it relies heavily on Sheoldred remaining on the battlefield over multiple turn rotations, leaving it exposed to targeted removal and sweepers due to limited dedicated protection and zero mass board wipes.
