Deck overview

Mirko, Obsessive Theorist leads a Dimir reanimator and control strategy that converts graveyard setup into overwhelming board presence. The deck uses low-cost surveil spells, loot effects, and tutors like Entomb to curate the library and fill the graveyard with high-impact threats, simultaneously growing Mirko with +1/+1 counters. At each end step, Mirko reanimates eligible creatures, while supplementary spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Necromancy provide redundant recursion. Shapeshifters such as Phyrexian Metamorph and Sakashima's Student copy your best threats or opponents' powerhouses. The deck closes games through heavy evasive combat damage amplified by Archfiend of Despair or overwhelming card advantage from Vilis, Broker of Blood and Consecrated Sphinx.
