Deck overview

This deck is a political control strategy led by Sokrates, Athenian Teacher. It uses symmetrical card draw and combat mediation to steer opponent aggression elsewhere while building a massive card advantage engine. Sokrates provides political leverage by preventing combat damage and rewarding both combatants with fresh cards. Meanwhile, defensive staples like Propaganda and Baird, Steward of Argive disincentivize attacks aimed at your life total. As your hand swells, payoffs like The Council of Four, Ominous Seas, and Alandra, Sky Dreamer create a steady stream of defensive blockers. The deck ultimately secures victory through non-combat win conditions, notably casting and redrawing Approach of the Second Sun, draining opponents with Psychosis Crawler, or assembling an alternate victory with Triskaidekaphile and Jace, Wielder of Mysteries.
