Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal midrange and control deck commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. From the command zone, the commander's eminence ability reduces the casting cost of all Sphinx spells by one generic mana, accelerating expensive flying beaters into play ahead of schedule. The deck develops mana rocks and cost reducers like Herald's Horn during the early turns before deploying core card engines such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Consecrated Sphinx on Turns 4 to 5. Once established, the deck transitions into a lethal threat on Turn 6 by chaining massive flyers, reanimating graveyards with Breach the Multiverse, and utilizing asymmetric mill engines like Bruvac the Grandiloquent, The Mindskinner, and Mindcrank. Efficient spot removal and flexible counterspells protect the board and disrupt opposing combo attempts, while Ghostly Prison and Propaganda stall incoming attacks until an overwhelming flying assault closes the game on Turn 8.
