Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug and Wheel Burn strategy commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap, continuous life-loss permanents—such as Razorkin Needlehead, Roiling Vortex, Ankh of Mishra, and Underworld Dreams—to guarantee that opponents lose life on their own turns. This turns Valgavoth into a relentless card advantage engine that draws three extra cards per table rotation while steadily swelling into a massive flying threat. The deck converts its continuous card surplus into lethal burst damage by chaining symmetrical draw spells and wheels like Wheel of Fortune and Teferi's Puzzle Box alongside severe punishers like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Psychosis Crawler. Supported by low-cost redirection spells, efficient removal, and board sweepers, the deck steadily exhausts opponent life totals while closing the game through evasive commander damage and unavoidable table-wide burn.
