Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet artifact aggro and midrange deck commanded by Baxter Stockman. The core game plan focuses on deploying early artifact creatures, casting Baxter on turn 5, and leveraging his beginning-of-combat trigger to grant +3/+0, first strike, and vigilance to an artifact attacker each turn. While this setup turns small utility creatures into formidable combatants, the deck relies purely on fair combat damage across three opponents without mass pump effects or combos. Mana dorks such as Guidelight Optimizer and Steelswarm Operator help deploy artifact threats, though their restricted mana cannot accelerate Baxter himself. Interaction consists largely of single-target burn and bounce spells, which handle utility creatures but offer limited answers to wide boards or noncreature engines. Overall, the deck functions smoothly as a battlecruiser combat deck, but it faces slow closing speed and exposure to opposing sweepers.
