trap deck by Cheez

Format: Commander

Commander: Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai morph value engine helmed by Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer. The primary plan is to deploy face-down creatures (via morph, megamorph, or manifest) at reduced cost thanks to Kadena's static ability, drawing a card each time a face-down creature enters. The deck leverages a web of flip-trigger payoffs-removal, bounce, counterspells, token generation, and recursion-to grind out incremental advantage. Win conditions are combat-oriented: building an overwhelming board of 2/2s and/or flipping into larger threats like Sagu Mauler or Hooded Hydra, then finishing with Overwhelming Stampede or Biomass Mutation. Kadena acts as the primary card flow engine, but backup synergies from Secret Plans, They Came from the Pipes, and Whisperwood Elemental ensure the machine keeps running even if the commander is answered. The deck is a classic multiplayer value pile that wins through persistent tempo, not through fast combos.
