DUNE UR-MAUM by jakamchelse

Format: Commander

Commander: Hazezon, Shaper of Sand

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Naya lands-matter token-swarm deck built around Hazezon, Shaper of Sand. The core plan is to flood the battlefield with Deserts, recur them from the graveyard, and convert every landfall into Sand Warrior tokens plus landfall payoffs. Hazezon is both the primary token engine and the deck's Deserts-from-graveyard enabler, which makes Dune Chanter effectively a hidden commander: once it is in play, every land you control is a Desert, so every land drop becomes a commander trigger. The deck wins mainly through combat: a wide board of Sand Warriors, Zombies, Plants, and Elementals, usually pushed over the top by Moraug, Fury of Akoum chaining extra combat phases off mass land-recursion turns. Incidental drain from Valakut Exploration, Tannuk, Memorial Ensign, Impact Tremors, and Warleader's Call provides a secondary, non-combat path.
