Impenetrable Smaug by Widermagician59

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable leads a Rakdos combo and burn strategy that weaponizes self-inflicted noncombat damage. Smaug has indestructible, flying, and haste, and generates a Treasure token for every point of noncombat damage it suffers. The deck abuses this triggered ability with sweepers and damage outlets such as Blasphemous Act, Pyrohemia, Pestilence, and Fire Covenant, creating massive bursts of Treasure tokens in a single turn. These tokens feed lethal burn engines including Reckless Fireweaver, Marionette Apprentice, and Mirkwood Bats, or establish an infinite damage loop with Mayhem Devil. Secondary win conditions leverage alternative artifact win conditions like Hellkite Tyrant and combat damage from massive aerial Dragons.
