Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Izzet storm list helmed by Ral, Monsoon Mage. The primary game plan leverages Ral's early cost reduction to deploy fast mana rituals, chain draw spells, and assemble a lethal Underworld Breach turn as early as Turn 2 or 3. Once Breach is online, looping Lion's Eye Diamond with Brain Freeze generates infinite storm and mills the entire table, or finishes with a lethal Grapeshot. Backup lines utilize Birgi, God of Storytelling and Storm-Kiln Artist with Reiterate loops or Past in Flames for resilient storm recursion. The deck protects its combo turn using efficient interaction including Deflecting Swat, Fierce Guardianship, Pact of Negation, and Hexing Squelcher, while disrupting opposing fast wins with cheap stack answers.
