Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Golgari tribal build commanded by Aphelia, Viper Whisperer. The game plan revolves around flooding the battlefield with low-cost deathtouch Snakes, leveraging combat damage triggers to generate immense card advantage, and closing games with lethal life-loss amplification. Deathtouch creates unfavorable blocking dynamics for opponents, ensuring combat-damage draw engines like Toski, Bearer of Secrets and Ohran Frostfang connect consistently. Once the board is established, Aphelia's {4}{B} ability pairs with damage doublers such as Bloodletter of Aclazotz or Wound Reflection to eliminate opponents in a single strike. Alternate win conditions like Fynn, the Fangbearer and Triumph of the Hordes provide poison-based closing power. The deck incorporates robust permanent removal and Grave Pact effects like Dictate of Erebos and The Serpent Society to punish opposing creatures, maintaining high tempo and resilience throughout mid-game combat.
