Deck overview

This deck is a five-color Spellslinger combo engine built around Codie, Ravenous Codex and the Prepare mechanic. The primary game plan establishes early mana acceleration through low-CMC dorks, rocks, and fetch-shock fixing, deploying Codie on Turn 2 or 3. Once Codie activates its WUBRG ability on Turn 4, it prepares all creatures and copies every prepared spell cast. The deck leverages game-breaking value engines like Emeritus of Ideation (Ancestral Recall), Emeritus of Woe (Demonic Tutor), and Archmage Emeritus to draw through its library. On Turn 5, it transitions into a deterministic win via Displacer Kitten combined with Blazing Firesinger (Seething Song), generating infinite red mana and Magecraft triggers to drain the entire table with Witherbloom Apprentice or an enormous Stensian Sanguinist (Exsanguinate). The deck boasts outstanding card velocity and a resilient backup plan that operates even without its commander.
