Deck overview

This deck is a competitive tempo-control list helmed by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. It leverages cheap, evasive one-drop creatures to cheat Yuriko onto the battlefield as early as turn 2 via Commander Ninjutsu. Because ninjutsu is an activated ability, it circumvents countermagic and commander tax. Yuriko's combat triggers provide immediate card advantage and table-wide life loss by revealing high-cost spells like Shadow of Mortality and Temporal Trespass. To seal games rapidly, the deck runs the format-defining Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation combo, which can win the game on turn 3. A dense suite of free counterspells, including Force of Will and Fierce Guardianship, protects win attempts while disrupting opponents. Disruptive elements like Opposition Agent and Orcish Bowmasters slow down opposing strategies, ensuring the deck maintains tempo advantage until it secures victory.
